Projects relating to Blindness and Deafblindness

These are some project proposals for the development of equipment for blind and deafblind people. They were originally intended to be taken up by students in School of Engineering and Manufacture, De Montfort University, but they have not been taken up.

• QWERTY based typewriter for Moon.
• Coin sorter for blind people with a limited sense of touch.
• Large print display for Textphones for deaf vision-impaired people. The problen of lack of access to the phone system is also covered in Accessible Text Telephones for People in Australia who are Deafblind.
• Large print Caller ID system for the telephone. (no description for this one).
